Thank you Grumpy.

This update is two fold. I've had a third surgery to correct the problems which has set me back again. I've come in today and have been mostly reading to catch up and may still be somewhat scarce in here. Secondly, My computer decided to die. I have a back up computer but lost a lot of info and have been working to bring some of it back.

Online work has been slow because of all of this but hope to get back in the groove asap. (if nothing else happens to delay it all) Trust me when I say I would rather be working and answering questions than to be limited.

Dear Jackpop!
I want to let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers each day.
Our wish is for you to recover fully and be able to be your very active self.
Sorry for being this late but I also have had some very serious health issues
so I too know what a cane and walker are all about and how the confounded
things can be in our way but must become our friends at times like these.
We just pray that they will be temporary. Blessings to you always, Jackpop.

Thank you GoldenLady.

Still not great but still around..... sort of. OK, quick update. They have me going through hyperbaric treatments as this infected area refuses to heal. The Doctor hinted at a possible continued surgery by taking off more of the leg, but I'm gonna fight to avoid that. I'm still in quite a bit of pain, ergo quite a few pain pills. Way back when in my 'Hippie Days' (that was a long time ago, lol), I probably would have jumped at the chance to take some of these drugs but it's a different story when you have to. I'm still working the best I can to generate funds, but it's been slow because all this health stuff... and of course the old age thing.

Thanks for all the well wishes and support from all you guys..... even Lewd.

In the words of a famous governor, "I'll be back."

Jackpop, it is so wonderful to hear from you. Any improvement is great and with those hyperbaric treatments, that hopefully will be what you need to recover. As a nurse and alternative therapist, I am very familiar with hyperbaric use as that room is adjacent to my treatment room. It was considered at one point but then decided against. I have venous stasis ulceration from too much time on my feet standing. When my husband was hurt in a motor vehicle accident 1/2000, none of the Doctors knew it for almost 2 months but his skull was cracked and there was a very slow brain bleed that no one could detect at the time. I had a business trip to Arizona which I was going to cancel but the Doctors encouraged me to take him along for the R & R. We found out one week later that the pressure in the airplane trip caused him to really hemorrhage and he ended in one week with a massive Brain hemorrhage. He had Bilateral Subdural Hematomas [massive bleed in BOTH hemispheres inside his Brain. Major Brain surgery followed without any hope that he would even live.
Jack, my husband and I found out years ago that we are ‘strivers and survivors’. Fred, though he did not even know me for over 4 years, survived that horrid trauma and surprises every doctor that he has ever seen. He though always healthy, is now a very ill man. I will not even go into the disabilities he has but he will NEVER be able to work again. He was an architect who designed Hospitals all over the world but survive he has done. He ‘strives’ each day to live to the fullest the life he has left.
I was with him every moment, in 4 Hospitals, in 3 States for close to 5 years and that is what finished the veins in my legs/feet. My veins are completely shot they say and if I were diabetic like my husband is from that Brain surgery, I would not even have my legs/feet. The pain level is horrendous but I too am alive and functioning mostly. So there is a lot to be very grateful for each and every day of our lives. Jack, keep ‘striving and surviving’ and one day you will beat this thing with God’s help. We are all praying for you and we know you will do it. Keep us posted when you are able to. Sorry this is long but I felt compelled to share it with you. Many Rich Blessings to you!

As u can see, I never ever post but felt compelled. I, and I think I can speak for the other people reading your post, felt deeply touched. Thank u for sharing, and I hope some day when something challenging in my life crosses my path that I find the same courage, strength and wisdom that u found to survive and fight.

Hello Tayman!
I was trying to share to encourage, Jackpop and CN but I sure hope that I did not upset you too much. That certainly was not my intent. The challenges that life brings are almost too large to hurdle at times, but hurdle them we must and there is only one way that my hubby and I have managed to do what we have and we keep continuing to try. We have a tremendous belief and that empowers us. Yes, tayman, if you do not miss your opportunities to get stronger and closer to Him daily, you too most definitely will be able to find deep down within yourself the same courage, strength and wisdom that He has blessed us with. We could never have been able to endure on our own and we are the first to say so. We thank you so for your very kind words and I am going to read this to my husband. I feel that he really needs to hear them. Courage and Blessings to you and yours. Enjoy your weekend.
